Dollar-cost averaging means buying a fixed dollar amount of an asset on a regular schedule regardless of price. The math is simple: you buy more units when prices are low and fewer when prices are high, which typically produces a lower average cost than a poorly-timed lump sum.
A DCA bot automates that discipline. You configure an asset, a schedule (daily, weekly, biweekly), a spend amount per buy, and a funding wallet. On each interval the bot executes the buy at current market prices and records the fill.
The bot wallet is a security boundary, not a convenience. Best practice is to fund it with only what the strategy needs โ your main holdings stay in cold storage or a separate wallet. If the bot's key is ever compromised, losses are capped at the bot wallet balance.
What DCA doesn't do: it doesn't predict price, and it doesn't protect you from an asset that trends to zero. It answers one question โ "when should I buy?" โ with "on schedule." Entry timing is solved; asset selection is still on you.
Dexana's DCA bots run on Solana with configurable intervals and per-bot wallets. You can pause, adjust amounts, or top up the funding wallet without touching the bot's trade history.
