Security Best Practices for DeFi Trading

DeFi trading puts you in direct control of your keys โ€” which means your security practices are your only security.

Bot wallets deserve separate treatment: a wallet running automated trades holds the funds that wallet can spend. Fund it with only what the strategy needs โ€” not your whole portfolio. If a bot wallet is ever compromised, losses stop at what it holds.

Key hygiene: never paste a seed phrase or private key into any website, even one that looks official. Hardware wallets for cold storage; hot wallets hold only what you're actively trading. Revoke stale token approvals โ€” tools like revoke.cash show what contracts can spend from your wallet.

The threats that actually drain traders: phishing sites impersonating DEX front-ends (check URLs obsessively), malicious airdropped tokens whose contracts try to drain on interaction, and 'approval' transactions that grant unlimited spend to a contract you didn't vet.

Dexana bot wallets are yours โ€” the platform signs transactions server-side for strategies you configure, but the security model is the same: fund what the strategy needs, withdraw profits regularly, and treat every approval as permanent until revoked.
