If SOL trades at one price on venue A and a higher price on venue B, buying on A and selling on B captures the spread. That's arbitrage โ the most honest strategy in trading, because it doesn't depend on predicting direction.
The catches are all in execution. The spread must survive fees on both legs, withdrawal/transfer costs, and the slippage of actually filling the orders. On-chain, transaction confirmation times matter: a price gap can close in seconds as other bots compete for the same spread.
Common variants: cross-exchange arbitrage (same asset, different venues), triangular arbitrage (A to B to C to A within one venue when the implied rates disagree), and funding-rate arbitrage (long spot plus short perp to collect funding while delta-neutral).
Sustainable arbitrage is mostly an infrastructure problem: speed, capital positioned on both venues, and monitoring that fires before the spread closes. Manual arbitrage across Solana DEXes is possible but you're competing with specialized bots.
Dexana's arbitrage scanner continuously compares prices across venues and surfaces live spreads โ the tool shows you where gaps exist; whether they're big enough to survive costs is a calculation it helps you run.
